New Breach Trailer Focuses on the Game’s Sniper Class

QC Games’ new co-op action-RPG Breach is available now via Steam Early Access. In an effort to hype up the game’s launch, QC Games has also released a new gameplay trailer. The trailer focuses specifically on one of Breach’s advanced classes: the Sniper.

Breach Sniper Spotlight Trailer

Breach’s Sniper class is an advanced version of the game’s more newbie-friendly Gunslinger class. Like the Gunslinger, the Sniper utilizes a pair of twin pistols in combat and functions as an Assassin archetype. However, the Sniper’s ability kit is noticeably different from the Gunslinger’s. While the Gunslinger focuses on sustained burst damage, the Sniper utilizes debilitating long-range abilities to control the battlefield from afar.

Here’s QC Games’ official description of Breach’s Sniper class:

“The Sniper class employs magical boosts to make sure each shot locks in with deadly precision on their enemies in a multitude of ways: from the Vortex Slug, a slow moving shot that creates a vortex on impact, pulling enemies together, to the Snare Trap, which holds enemies in place and applies damages, and to the Snipe signature ability, targeting opponents and eliminating them where they stand with high single-target damage. Timing the use of each Sniper ability will enable players to ruthlessly obliterate monsters with marksman-like efficiency.”

And here’s a breakdown of the Sniper’s core abilities

Breach Sniper Abilities

  • Vortex Slug – Fires a slow-moving slug round that creates a vortex on impact with an object, max range, or second activation. All enemies near the vortex receive 200 damage and are pulled toward the vortex’s center.
  • Tactical Shot – Deals 300 damage and applies the Hinder status for six seconds (Hinder prevents use of the dodge action)
  • Snare Trap – Places a trap that deals 250 damage and applies Root status for three seconds to the first enemy that steps on it (Root prevents all movement while active)
  • Precision Barrage – Unloads a barrage on a single enemy target for 2016 damage over six seconds. Precision Barrage’s cooldown resets if the target is below 50 percent health after completion. Reset only occurs once per charge.
  • Snipe (Ultimate Ability) – After one second, deal 600 damage to target enemy plus another 300 damage if the enemy is at full health and/or affected by Root, Stun, or Hinder status. Snipe also grants a passive 15 percent bonus to the Sniper’s base attack damage.
