Arges The Cyclops Is Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s Latest Boss Battle

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has continued its generous rollout of January content as the cyclops Arges is available to challenge. Though the cyclops known as The Bright One will certainly pose a formidable test for players, the promised rewards are well worth the risk.

Arges The Cyclops Is Ready To Be Challenged

Announced earlier this month, the most recent update for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has officially arrived, bringing a host of new challenges along with it. In addition to two more Lost Tales of Greece, a new Cyclops has joined the couple bosses already available. Arges the Cyclops can be found in his volcanic home in the Angry Caldera of Arges. A fitting name for the dwelling of the massive beast indeed.

Victory in players’ endeavors to defeat the creature will present them with the legendary Hammer of Hephaistos, god of the forge. The theme of magma and ash continues even into the achievement or trophy earned for defeating The Bright One. Volcanic Sunscreen will award you for fulfilling the bounty and will serve as a necessary badge of honor for completionists. Upon booting up Odyssey the bounty tasking players to defeat Arges will appear, but it’s up to players to sail to the Volcanic Islands to find and slay the cyclops.

Ubisoft won’t slow their expansion release pace at all following a tidal wave of backlash after the Shadow Heritage DLC forced the protagonist into a heterosexual relationship preceding parenthood. The French developer has since issued multiple apologies and statements since its release, stating that their offense was unintentional and that the decision was made purely to advance the assassin bloodlines prominently featured in the series. They have also announced that no plans are being made to alter the final episode of the Legacy of the First Blade expansions, but instead that the final chapter will resolve the plot points introduced in the most recent. Many fans are holding out hope in Ubisoft’s promise, while some have denounced the expansions altogether.
