The NBA trade deadline officially arrived on Thursday afternoon and with it came a flurry of moves. There weren’t any major superstars moving to new rosters on Thursday, but there were certainly noteworthy deals made. Among the players joining new teams were Markelle Fultz, Marc Gasol, Nikola Mirotic, and Jonathon Simmons. Here are more details about the NBA 2K19 trade deadline moves which are available in the game.
NBA 2K19 trade deadline moves: Fultz, Gasol join new teams
By now, everyone knows that Kristaps Porzingis joined the Mavs while DeAndre Jordan and Dennis Smith Jr. joined the Knicks. Another major move arrived several nights ago when the Philadelphia Sixers made a deal with the Los Angeles Clippers.
That move shocked the NBA world as Philly added NBA All-Star snub Tobias Harris to a starting lineup with Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid, and Jimmy Butler. However, the Sixers weren’t done. On Thursday, they traded their former No. 1 pick Markelle Fultz over to Orlando. In exchange, the Magic sent Jonathon Simmons along with other assets.

Marc Gasol also has a new team as he was sent to the Toronto Raptors on Thursday. The former NBA All-Star spent the majority of his career with the Memphis Grizzlies but they’ve decided to move on. The Grizzlies received quite a bit in return for Gasol too. Toronto sent over Jonas Valanciunas, Delon Wright, CJ Miles, and a 2024 second-round pick as part of the deal.
Gasol has been steady for the season. He started as an 85 overall in the NBA 2K19 game and rose up to an 86 weeks ago. He has since fallen to an 84 as he joins Toronto. Still, he gives their roster another talent to aid Kawhi Leonard and Kyle Lowry as they look to compete with Milwaukee, Boston, and Philly in the East.
NBA 2K19 trade deadline moves: Mirotic, Harris impact
Another big man who moved to a new squad is Nikola Mirotic. The New Orleans Pelicans traded him to the Milwaukee Bucks as part of a three-team deal. It also includes the Detroit Pistons who recently dealt Stanley Johnson to Milwaukee for Thon Maker. Mirotic started this season with a 79 rating and is up to an 81 right now.
Other moves which now appear on NBA 2K19 rosters included Otto Porter Jr. to the Bulls in a deal where Jabari Parker and Bobby Portis were traded to Washington. That gives Chicago a solid player to try to bolster their lineup.
There’s no question that biggest trade over the past several days was the Tobias Harris to Philadelphia move. It brings a player with an 86 overall rating to their starting five which already has three top 20 players in terms of 2K19 ratings. Throw in J.J. Redick, and you’ve got four players from the top 100 in the game. The team also made the Fultz deal which brings them Simmons, among other players.
It’s believed that in the real NBA, this squad is going to take over the Eastern Conference. It certainly looks good on paper now. That said, gamers will be able to test that theory out in NBA 2K19 as their roster updates occur.
