Among the new faces on the Far Cry New Dawn Guns-for-Hire Roster is Nana, an elderly sniper who is regarded with respect by both Hope County survivors and Highwaymen alike. If you want to recruit this impressive sharpshooter, you don’t need to run around the county doing some task for her. Instead, you just need to prove your skills. Of course, she isn’t easily impressed.
Far Cry New Dawn Guns-for-Hire: How to Prove Yourself to Nana
Nana can be found at a makeshift shooting range near the centre of Hope County. As with many things in Far Cry New Dawn, the easiest way to find her is to talk to the Wiki-Bean-ia scouts. These wanderers can be found all over Hope County. However, there’s always guaranteed to be one at Prosperity and one at every captured outpost. Talking to them will often reveal new side quest, stash, or Gun-for-Hire locations, and before too long you should hear about Nana.
Once you have Nana’s location on your map (or you happen to find it yourself), you can ask her for her assistance. Although she’s keen to take the fight to the Highwaymen, she won’t team up with just anyone. You’ll need to prove to her that you’ve got what it takes. Fortunately, you won’t need to go anywhere for this mission; it takes place entirely at the shooting range. Your first task is simply to show Nana that you can handle a firearm. Head over to the shooting range and pick up the sniper rifle which is on a crate to your left. This weapon has infinite ammunition for this mission, and is very useful, especially if you don’t have a sniper rifle of your own yet.
Completing Nana’s Four Shooting Trials
Arranged around the shooting range are 10 Highwaymen helmets on poles. You can see each marked by a red light. Shoot any helmet to start a timer, and then shoot the rest before the timer runs out. If it does, the mission will fail and you’ll have to start over. Once you shoot all 10 helmets, Nana will raise the difficulty and have you go again. This time, the poles which the helmets are on will be moving up and down. Shoot all 10 again within the time limit to complete the second trial. You’re only halfway done, however. The next task is to shoot 10 balloons. Climb up to the top of the nearby tower and Nana will release the grey and pink balloons. Shoot them all before they rise too high to complete the trial.
Although you’ve proven your shooting to Nana, she points out that shooting at real targets is very different, and proceeds to shoot a flare into the sky; triggering waves of Highwaymen to descend on the shooting range. You and Nana will have to fight them off. Although the tower does afford you a good vantage point, a sandstorm will obscure your vision to some extent. Also, beware of Highwaymen climbing up the ladder behind you!
Note that if you have another Gun-for-Hire with you, they’ll fight as well, and it can be useful to make use of Timber here; while you and Nana shoot from the tower, your canine companion will run around the shooting range and will often disarm Highwaymen or force them to stand still for you to shoot. Between the sandstorm and the Highwaymen focusing on you, he isn’t in too much danger, either. Once all the Highwaymen are dead, Nana will recognise your talent and at last agree to help you. You can now call upon her from the Far Cry New Dawn Guns-for-Hire roster.
