Since launch, DICE has released numerous major patches and game updates for Battlefield 5, and as a result, the vast majority of the game’s worst bugs have been dealt with. However, new bugs do occasionally pop up, either introduced by a patch, or discovered for the first time. That seems to have been the case with this particular new Battlefield 5 bug. If accurate, then it seems that players could exploit the bug to kill the enemy team at the start of a game on the Rotterdam map.
The Apparent New Battlefield 5 Bug Which Lets You Massacre the Enemy Team
A video showcasing the apparent Battlefield 5 bug was recently posted on YouTube by user Mustafa Renkçi; “Dice should fix this,” he says; “You can kill all enemy at start with this bug.”
The YouTuber doesn’t explain how to trigger the bug (probably for the best), as it appears to be an enormously advantageous glitch. Spawning in at the start of the game, it seems that the vast majority of players on both teams are frozen, except for the YouTuber. He spawns in a tank with full mobility and quickly drives to the enemy spawn point. There, he proceeds to run down many of the enemy team. It’s unclear whether the other players are able to see what is going on. However, there are some clearly confused reactions in the in-game chat. It’s not totally obvious whether the bug causes the teams to freeze or allows a player to start moving before the match begins. Whatever the case, it’s obviously a major problem.
After about 50 seconds, the game seems to start and other players begin moving and shooting. In general, DICE has been fairly good at tracking and resolving bugs fairly quickly. As such, hopefully this one gets picked up and dealt with swiftly. Fortunately, it seems as though it may require some very specific circumstances to cause, as it doesn’t appear to be a widespread problem yet.
