As we inch closer towards The Division 2’s launch date, Ubisoft has released yet another new trailer for the game. This time, the trailer focuses on The Division 2’s endgame conflict and how much it differs from what came before.
The Division 2 Endgame Trailer
One of the major problems players had with The Division was that its endgame was wholly unsatisfying. Sure, there were some unique features like the raid-esque Incursions, but they were outliers at best. For the most part endgame players would just grind through the same stuff they had already done before. If you didn’t feel like grinding through endgame-tuned story missions or the Dark Zone, you were out of luck.
With The Division 2, Ubisoft is clearly taking steps to ensure history doesn’t repeat itself. The sequel will have several unique elements which only unlock when a player reaches the endgame. The below trailer touches on all these features but here’s a brief bulleted roundup as well:
- An elite enemy faction called Black Tusk. Black Tusk is basically the anti-Division, armed with advanced gadgets and weaponry which make them a major threat.
- Occupied Dark Zones which have been taken over by Black Tusk. The rewards for braving an occupied Dark Zone are greater, but so are the risks.
- Three distinct class specializations. Players who reach level 30 can specialize as a Sharpshooter, and Survivalist, or a Demolitionist. Each specialization unlocks a unique weapon (heavy sniper rifles, crossbows, or grenade launchers) and gadget type. These specializations will prove essential in taking the fight to Black Tusk.
- New endgame-centric story missions, side-activities, and gear sets.
- Raids, a new PvE activity which Ubisoft is still keeping close to the chest for the time being. The one detail which Ubisoft has confirmed is that Raids will be noticeably different than The Division’s Incursions.
The Division 2 launches on March 15 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Before that, the game is getting an open beta in early March.
