Destiny 2’s Season of the Drifter includes some unique catch-up mechanics for those who own the Annual Pass. By completing a new series of ‘Power Surge’ bounties, players can earn a fresh set of 640 power gear. In this article we’ll explain what the Power Surge bounties are, how to complete them, and their associated rewards.
How to Acquire Destiny 2’s Power Surge Bounties
Destiny 2 Annual Pass owners can pick up the new Power Surge bounties from the Drifter in the Tower. There are four bounties in total, each of which awards two 640 power items upon completion. This means that completing all four bounties awards a full armor set and three weapons (Primary, Secondary, and Power).
However, there’s a bit of a twist you should be aware of. The rewards granted through the Power Surge bounties are rare (blue) items as opposed to legendary (purple). This means they’re intended to be infused into your favorite legendary (or exotic) gear to boost its power. If you haven’t been diligently saving up your Enhancement Cores, you might have a little extra work ahead of you.
Power Surge Bounties and Rewards
The four Power Surge bounties and their associated rewards are as follows:
Fireteam Up
This bounty tasks you with finishing a Strike and slaying at least 50 enemies in a Strike. Doing so awards a 640 power chest armor piece and rocket launcher.
I’ll Make Your Rich(er)
For this bounty you need to send five blockers in Gambit and finish a Gambit match. Doing so grants 640 power gauntlets and leg armor.
Inner System Tour
This bounty tasks you with finishing two public events and three destination bounties (i.e. bounties given by a planetary vendor). Complete both those tasks and you’ll earn a 640 power pulse rifle and shotgun.
Tactical Refresher
This final bounty requires earning 10 Crucible PvP kills and finishing a Crucible match. Upon completion you’ll receive a 640 power helmet and class item.
