WWE 2K19 Tournament Turmoil Results: Day 1 Match Winners Include Batista, Roman Reigns
While the NCAA men’s basketball tournament action tipped off on Thursday, another type of March Madness also began. The first day of WWE 2K19 Tournament Turmoil results and highlights officially came through. A total of 16 matches were simulated for Round 1, Day 1. Professional wrestling fans and gamers are now getting to see which superstars advanced to the next round of the 64-man tournament.
WWE 2K19 Tournament Turmoil Results: NXT region winners
Just a few days ago, we revealed the complete Tournament Turmoil bracket. The tournament matchups started off in the NXT region on Thursday (Mar. 21) with Aleister Black taking on Hanson of War Raiders. Despite a late match mishap where the referee got knocked out by Hanson on an Irish whip, Black was able to finish off his opponent to pick up the opening win.
In the second match, Undisputed Era leader Adam Cole was unable to win, despite another referee knockout. Angelo Hawkins of Street Profits ultimately picked up the pinfall victory to move on after hitting several big moves. His partner Montez Ford was victorious in a match later on against Ricochet.
Other winners in the NXT region included Velveteen Dream, Pete Dunne, and Rowe. Here are the full NXT match results:

Perhaps the biggest surprises out of the NXT region on Day 1 are that Adam Cole, Ricochet, and Johnny Gargano all lost. That’s three guys who have held the NXT North American Championship belt.
WWE 2K19 Tournament Turmoil Results: Raw region winners
The WWE Raw region provides some upper tier competitors including a number of superstars heading to WrestleMania. Among them is the 2019 men’s Royal Rumble winner Seth Rollins. He’ll be taking on Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship at Mania. He’s also moved on to the second round of Tournament Turmoil after defeating Scott Dawson in the opening matchup.
Roman Reigns recently returned to the WWE after a brief break to deal with his leukemia. “The Animal” Batista also recently came back to call out Triple H. Both of these superstars won their opening matchups for Day 1. Reigns defeated Dash Wilder, while Batista beat Drew McIntyre.
In the final match presented on the first day, the Showoff Dolph Ziggler gave Braun Strowman everything he could but came up short as “The Monster Among Men” captured the victory.

Unfortunately, our bracket predictions were busted with Batista defeating Drew McIntyre. However, Velveteen Dream is still alive for our Final Four picks. Round 1, Day 2 of the WWE 2K19 Tournament Turmoil will feature the other side of the bracket with the SmackDown Live and Legends regions.
