A FIFA 19 battle emerged between two of the stars from the Southampton football club. It was Matt Targett versus Moi Elyounoussi on the sticks to see which player plays best on the virtual pitch. That’s a France vs. Belgium battle for the international footballers. Luckily, FIFA provided a highlight video of the matchup to give gamers insight into how it all played out.
FIFA 19 Battle: Matt Targett vs. Moi Elyounoussi
Two of the English Premier League talents available in FIFA 19 decided to try out a virtual battle. Moi Elyounoussi is the star left midfielder for Southampton. In FIFA 19 player ratings, Elyounoussi boasts a 79 OVR with top skills such as 82 Pace, 79 Dribbling, and 76 Passing. His teammate Matt Targett came with a 70 OVR in the game including 71 Pace, 69 Defense, 66 Physicality, and 65 Dribbling. That’s their in-game ratings, but how would the real-life players fare head-to-head on the video game?
The two footballers took each other on at Staplewood, the official Southampton training grounds. Targett used Belgium in the FIFA 19 battle, while Moi went with France. As the Southampton stars battled it out, they had players Ryan Bertrand and Nathan Redmond providing commentary throughout their matchup. A full 20-minute video of the game made its way onto YouTube for gamers to see which of the stars claimed bragging rights.
As seen in the replay video above, France took the matchup by a final of 1-0. That gives Moi Elyounoussi the bragging rights for his club. However, the club itself may not have too much else to brag about at the moment, beyond this recent video game excitement.
FIFA 19 Battle: Southampton’s standing, ePremier League soon
Right now, Southampton ranks at No. 16 in the Premier League standings. The football club holds a record of seven wins, nine draws, and 14 losses in their 30 matches played so far. At least they know they can turn to the FIFA 19 game to simulate better outcomes for their team as they’re far away from the top of the table.
Still, it’s fun to see how the real-life players do when they put their skills to the test on the virtual game. Soon, the FIFA ePremier League will be underway, with the professional gamers taking over to see if they can bring Southampton an inaugural title. The league kicks off in just a few days, with the final to be televised by Sky Sports. See more details via Goal.com website and stay tuned to VGR as more details arrive!
