WWE SmackDown Live superstar Mike “The Miz” Mizanin will be a part of the upcoming WWE 2K19 Million Dollar Challenge semifinals. That event takes place during WrestleMania weekend which arrives this week. Miz is also preparing for a match on the card for the WWE’s biggest pay-per-view of the year. He recently discussed how his skills rate on the game when compared “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles and more.
WWE 2K19 Million Dollar Challenge: Miz to provide coaching
The WWE 2K19 Million Dollar Challenge was part of the new 2K19 wrestling title that released back in October. Gamers had to defeat a special Million Dollar Tower in the game. It ended with them going against a Golden AJ Styles with enhanced in-ring skills. Once gamers won that, they had to show proof they did it, and also provide their own recorded promo video to challenge the real-life AJ Styles.
Fast forward to April as the semi-finals and final are approaching. One gamer will get to take on the real AJ Styles on the game, for a shot at a million bucks. With the semi-finals coming up, The Miz will coach one of those semi-finalists. However, he admits his gaming skills aren’t nearly at the level of Styles’ skills on the sticks.
That said, Miz told Player One that his gaming skills are there but not quite like AJ’s due to all that Miz is working on. That includes producing and being part of his reality television show “Mr. and Mrs. Miz” on USA. Miz said Styles has much more time on his hands to hone his craft on the game, since Styles is also a gaming enthusiast. We reported on AJ Styles’ game skills previously at VGR.
However, he said he plans to teach his player all the “ends and outs” that he knows as well as “how to get inside AJ Styles’ head.” Miz also added, “the main focus for me will be to get AJ out of his focus, so the person I’m coaching can do what they need to do to win $1 million.” He’s certainly learned those sorts of mind games throughout his career and will hope to bring that to this virtual battle in the ring.
WWE 2K19 Million Dollar Challenge Finalists, Viewing Details
WWE’s WrestleMania 35 is coming up on Sunday, April 7 from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. It will feature a historic first-ever women’s main event match at a WrestleMania. Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Ronda Rousey will compete for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship. In addition, The Miz takes on SmackDown Live star and former tag team partner Shane McMahon in a grudge match. Gamers can simulate that match and others on the 2K19 title to see who might win.
Ahead of all that, The Miz will try to get his semifinalist into the finals and ultimately hope that gamer gets to face the real AJ Styles. First, the field has to be whittled down just a bit more since there are four worthy gamers standing strong after months of competition.
Competing in the final four of the 2K19 Challenge this week will be two US gamers and two international gamers. Philadelphia’s Stephan T. Benson and Jacksonville’s Gregory Davis will rep the United States. Roman Drobard represents Germany, while David Hoey represents Australia. Ultimately, it’ll come down to just two gamers, with one emerging to take on Styles in the final. More information about each of them along with their promo videos is available at 2K’s website.
The WWE 2K19 Million Dollar Challenge final will be shown as part of the NXT TakeOver pre-show. That goes live on April 5 starting at 6:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. WWE, Fox Sports, and USA Network will all show live online coverage through their digital platforms. There’s also live streaming through WWE 2K’s social channels including their Twitter @WWEgames.
It should be an exciting finals to see if one gamer can rise above the WWE 2K19 competition including AJ Styles and grab that cash money!
