The now former Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime is officially on Twitter for the first time. This comes as he concludes his reign as the head of the Big N here in the Americas. Oddly enough, Fils-Aime was not on the social media platform during his tenure at Nintendo. While it could be part of his job, other notable Nintendo employees are on there.
Reggie Fils-Aime took to Twitter to post his very first tweet. If you’re interested in checking out what he had to say as a free man, you can find his first tweet embedded neatly for you below. In a pretty awesome twist, his newfound Twitter account has the handle of @Reggie. This is especially intriguing since he just made the account.
It is possible that Twitter was nice enough to grant him the Twitter handle after his retirement at the head of Nintendo of America. Regardless, it seems that his retirement from Nintendo is the motivation behind this sudden change. For those who don’t know, Reggie Fils-Aime is retiring from Nintendo effective today. As far as we know, this is simply for retirement and not to join another company.
In his place, the aptly named former Chief of Marketing Doug Bowser will be taking over as President of Nintendo of America. Reggie led the company through many years from the successful but disliked Wii era to the failing Wii U era and even into the highly loved and successful Nintendo Switch era that we are currently in now.
