Composer Inon Zur has released a second track from his upcoming album, Into the Storm; his first album released as part of a new partnership with Sony Masterworks. The new track, “Shelaya,” is now available on YouTube, Spotify, and other platforms. Additionally, the album itself is now available to pre-order.
Fans Get a Second Look at Inon Zur’s Upcoming Album
The first track to be released from Into the Storm was a track of the same name. That piece of music was released around two months ago, while the music video was debuted last month at the SXSW Gaming Awards. That track, and its music video, featured cellist Tina Guo and violinist Caroline Campbell. Shelaya, the new track which is now available to listen to online, features vocals by Aubrey Ashburn. The noted vocalist has worked with Inon Zur in the past. Specifically, on the Dragon Age soundtracks; she provided vocals for a number of different tracks and also co-wrote the Dragon Age: Origins opening theme.
Working with Ashburn again certainly makes sense given what Inon Zur told us about the upcoming album last year. We interviewed the composer late last year, shortly after his partnership with Sony Masterworks was announced. At the time, he described the music as; “reminiscent of the previous scores I wrote for fantasy games, based on and inspired by the soundscapes and music-scapes I created for games like Dragon Age, EverQuest, Icewind Dale, Baldur’s Gate, and others in this genre.”
Into the Storm is due to release on the 7th of June, later this year. It is currently available for pre-order. It’s unknown if any of the other tracks will be released ahead of the full album release, but even if not, fans won’t have to wait too long for the album launch.
