We now know that The Division 2 is officially the best-selling game for the month of March. This also puts it as the second best-selling game for the entire year of 2019 thus far. Surprisingly enough, though, its success is still not enough to beat Kingdom Hearts 3. Kingdom Hearts 3 still remains as the best-selling game of 2019 at this time.
News of this comes via Daemon Hatfield, a reliable source from IGN. The Division 2 reached the top in terms of sales for the month of March, beating out other major releases that month like Sekiro Shadows Die Twice and Devil May Cry 5. The game is an overwhelming success for Ubisoft, both financially and in terms of reception.

Players and critics alike praise The Division 2 for having one of the strongest launches ever for a games as a service title. With more content on the way soon like new Specializations, that success is likely only going to grow. But will it be able to defeat the current reigning champion that is Kingdom Hearts 3?
Despite its great success in the market, The Division 2 is actually the second best-selling game for 2019. The only game to beat it is Kingdom Hearts 3 right now. Square Enix has been coy about how many copies the title sold, only noting that it shipped more than five million units at the beginning of February.
Kingdom Hearts 3 sales likely increased since then so it’s hard to tell just how close the race is. It remains to be seen if The Division 2 will be able to overtake the JRPG or if other upcoming games like the new Call of Duty, Animal Crossing, Pokemon, or something else will be the best-selling game for the whole year instead.
