Few athletes come with huge anticipation and high expectations, especially those under the age of 21. Al Kaline, Dwight Gooden, Kobe Bryant, and Tiger Woods all come to mind. The latest is Vladimir Guerrero Jr. The son of the great Vladimir Guerrero made his major league debut on Friday for the Toronto Blue Jays and instantly changed the look of this team. His moment in the sun didn’t stop on Friday – it extended all weekend long.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. most feared rookie in years?
While we don’t want to go overboard and compare Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to Mike Trout or Bryce Harper, it is not a long stretch to say this kid is going to be a star.
Guerrero Jr. helped spark a walk-off celebration for the Toronto Blue Jays in his major league debut this past Friday (April 26) night.
Leading off the bottom of the ninth inning, Guerrero doubled for his first major league hit. Toronto went on to win the game following Brandon Drury’s two-run homer with two outs to give the Jays a 4-2 win over Oakland on Friday night.
Guerrero followed that up by collecting hits on Saturday and Sunday, helping the Jays sweep the A’s in dramatic fashion. This kid is going to be special.
Guerrero Jr, Adam Dunn lead new headliners
While Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is already turning heads on the field, he is getting some action on MLB The Show as well! The fifth set of the Headliners Pack has arrived at the same time as the most anticipated player of the 2019 season. Coincidence? I don’t think so!
This very special pack will feature Future Stars Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (Diamond, 95 OVR) and Signature Series Adam Dunn (Diamond, 92 OVR).
Dunn was a two-time All-Star who played 14-years in the majors. He finished his career smashing 462 home runs and driving in 1,168 runs. The newly-revealed Legend is playable in Diamond Dynasty, Franchise (in the roster section), and Home Run Derby.
