As the NBA Playoffs move forward, fans are witness great performances and historic moments. One of the biggest so far came from the Portland Trail Blazers’ Damian Lillard. The Blazers All-Star had 47 points in an “must-win” game for the OKC Thunder. He had 47 before nailing a last-second three-pointer from way beyond the arc with Paul George guarding him closely. So Dame ended with 50 and received an NBA 2K19 MyTeam Playoffs Moments card for it. It also moved the Blazers on to the next round.
Trail Blazers use is up, per NBA 2K19
The NBA 2K19 crew tweeted out an interesting statistic on Monday (Apr. 29). Basically, more gamers are using the Portland Trail Blazers ever since Damian Lillard’s game-winner went in. In fact, NBA 2K19 indicates usage rate as increased by 62 percent in the game. That’s quite the increase, but there’s some great reason for it too.
Lillard’s enjoying newfound popularity, but he’s always been a fan-favorite. Most likely, gamers are trying to recreate his big shot against the Oklahoma City Thunder. In addition, there is an NBA 2K19 Moments Challenge involving Lillard’s feat. The objective is to score 50 in a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder with any player. Naturally, one has to think gamers are going with Dame and the Blazers to try to top the challenge.
Lillard & Blazers battling Jokic, Nuggets
The next challenge for Lillard and company is a tough semifinals series against the No. 1 seed Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets feature recent MyTeam Playoffs Moments card recipient Nikola Jokic. The Joker didn’t score 50 in his playoff moment but had an impressive triple-double in a Game 7 win against the Spurs.
The two players with huge playoffs moments brought their teams into battle on Monday. Jokic and the Nuggets took Game 1, 121-113. Jokic had 37 points, nine boards, six assists, three steals, and two blocks. Lillard finished with 39 points, six assists, three boards, and a steal. It’s clear these two All-Stars are far from done when it comes to providing historic moments.
The best part of all this is the ability to simulate these two teams and players in NBA 2K19. Gamers can write their own virtual history as the real playoffs unfold.
