Boston Red Sox vs Houston Astros 2019 Gameplay Simulation Results For May 26

The Boston Red Sox and Houston Astros will meet for the third and final game of their three-game series Sunday afternoon from Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas.  Yes, it is early in the season, but so far, the Astros have owned the Red Sox in 2019. Will this trend change today? We have our prediction from the MLB The Show 19 Gameplay simulation ready to go!

Houston Astros going for the sweep

The Boston Red Sox stumbled out of the gate in 2019. In fact, since Opening Day, the Sox haven’t quite found a way to right the ship. At 27-25, they are 7.5 games behind the Yankees in the AL East and in danger of sliding even further behind the second place Tampa Bay Rays.

The Houston Astros on the other hand are doing just fine. At 35-18, they are starting to open up a nice lead over every team in the AL West. Once again, way too early to call for must wins in baseball, but the Red Sox need a win right now much more than the Astros.

Gameplay results

Can the Red Sox get to Houston Astros star Justin Verlander? It will be tough. The ace right-hander is 8-1 with a 2.24 ERA. In his last outing, JV carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning allowing just one run on one hit while striking out a season-high 12 in a 5-1 win over the Chicago White Sox on May 21.

Here is how the MLB The Show Gameplay went down! In a surprise, this game turned out to be a high scoring one.

Houston’s Michael Brantley is the star of this contest as he finishes a stout 3-4 with 5 RBI in the Astros 10-7 victory. Josh James earns the win for Houston, while Roberto Osuna closes the door in the ninth to earn the save.

Mookie Betts and Rafael Devers were the big sticks for the Red Sox. Betts went 2-4 with a home run while Devers finished 3-4 with a homer and 2 RBI.

So far the MLB The Show simulations have been correct this season here at VGR. Will the trend continue today?
