YouTuber WiZiBlimp Perfectly Recreates Childish Gambino’s “This Is America” Video With Fortnite
Childish Gambino’s genius, surreal video for his latest hit “This Is America” has been shocking folks and turning heads everywhere, so it’s no surprise he’s inspired an entire new crew of people to make something as interesting as his art. So of course we have a video constructed inside of Fortnite made to look just like the video, which isn’t surprising at all, but it sure is awesome.
The video is a mostly faithful recreation of the original video and everything that made it what it is. In case you haven’t seen the original, you might want to watch it first, in fact. It’s below, in all its bizarre glory. Donald Glover parades around shirtless while doing some pretty shocking stuff here and there, which you may not be prepared for.
The Fortnite version does a lot of the same, despite a little bit of chaos near the end. It’s part of the meme kingdom now, as there have already been so many parodies and remakes of the video since its original debut that it was nearly inevitable that we’d see such a thing making its way online. And to think someone was able to use Fortnite to create something so awesome is extremely impressive.
Now the next thing to do, naturally, is create a PUBG version of the video, because there are plenty of ways to make that happen as well. It might even end up matching the original song’s more somber tone than this, to be quite honest. There’s a lot of incentive to do it, too, because these videos get tons of views when they get uploaded — hey, we’re sharing this one right now, aren’t we?
It may not be as impactful or as nuanced as the original video, but we think Childish Gambino himself would be pretty pleased with the end result.
