PUBG Corp. is laying down the law once more on players tho take to the game to buy and sell items on Steam in PUBG. Previously, PUBG Corp. disabled player-to-player trading on Steam, but now it’s extending the market embargo to the game’s crates. Chalk this up to another instance of people being fully unable to leave well enough alone, most likely.
When you get a new crate in PUBG, you can’t go turn around and sell it via the Steam marketplace. Players still can’t buy or sell May’s Aviator Crate on the marketplace, for example. These restrictions will be lifted on June 12, but the plan is to make an even longer wait in the future so no funny business can happen with these crates.
“Previous crates (like the Equinox Crate) were unmarketable for a shorter amount of time, but we’ve seen this cause somewhat abusive behavior of the market system,” said PUBG Corp. on the official blog post announcement. “We believe that implementing slightly longer market restriction times will help alleviate the issue.”
This way, folks who want to hoard items and then turn around and resell them to make things unfair for other players will be punished, though it does become a frustrating situation since regular players can’t get all the items they want from the market, either. But this is another great way PUBG Corp. is cracking down on those who abuse the system. It’s not fair for players to allow some to get away with this, so while it’s inconvenient for some, it’s a great way to make sure others aren’t getting by with things they shouldn’t be in the meantime.
Have you experienced any instances of PUBG marketplace abuse? Let us know, because that shouldn’t fly, especially in a game where there’s plenty of items to go around (and new ones always coming).
