In case you weren’t already drowning in a wave of leaks, we have another one for you. RPG Maker MV is coming to Nintendo Switch, as revealed by an Amazon Mexico leak earlier today. This is far from the first time a retailer – specifically Amazon – has leaked games ahead of their intended announcement, and it’s sure to not be the last. The listing for the game looks pretty official, detailing that NIS America will be publishing it and even including the box art.
NIS America, best known for localizing the Disgaea and Danganronpa series, handled publishing for the last RPG Maker game, FES, on Nintendo 3DS last year so this certainly makes sense. Shout out to the always knowledgeable Pixelpar on Twitter for catching this leak on Amazon Mexico. The retailer currently has the game listed to release on Nintendo Switch on November 27th, 2018.
Interestingly enough, RPG Maker MV already exists on Steam so it seems that this will be a port of that entry in the series. For those that don’t know, as the name states, the game teaches you and allows you to make and share your own 2D RPG games. The series is pretty popular with gamers who want to get a start in development and has been the basis for many well-known indie games like the beloved and highly recommended To The Moon and its sequel Finding Paradise.
It is currently unknown if this will be a direct port of the PC version of RPG Maker MV or altered in some way. We are sure to get an official announcement with details regarding this Nintendo Switch game very soon, given that E3 2018 is just around the corner. In the meantime, we recommend checking out our recent articles on two highly anticipated RPG’s: Code Vein and the Danganronpa developer’s Zanki Zero.
