Like plenty of other high-profile games, there is a wealth of incredible Apex Legends concept art which was made during the game’s development. Much of this art is now available to see on the personal profiles of the artists responsible on ArtStation. In fact, Respawn recently showcased some of the awesome new concept art which was created for Apex Legends Season 2.
New Season 2 Apex Legends Concept Art
The new Apex Legends concept art was shown off in Respawn’s most recent Reddit Check-in. In the update, three particular pieces of art were featured. “Personally, I really look forward to getting updates from the artists during development as it’s often the first time we start to see what a map, character, etc will actually look like,” writes Respawn’s Community Manager; “When new content comes out in the game, artists will often post the work they did and it’s a great way to see concepts of things in the live game and high res of skins or weapons they worked on.”
Three concept artists in particular were named in the update, along with links to their ArtStation profiles; Concept Artist Liam MacDonald, Senior Concept Artist Cliff Childs, and Senior Concept Artist Danny Gardner. With the launch of Apex Legends Season 2, these artists have all posted new art from the project on ArtStation. Additionally, Respawn noted in the Reddit Check-in; “If you all enjoy this type of stuff we’ll share more work from artists in the studio in the future. This week, let’s give some love to some of our amazing concept artists.”
The new concept art ranges from character designs to landscape and structural concepts. Some of the artwork is extremely dramatic, such as MacDonald’s vibrant yellow Caustic concept (pictured above). Certainly, it’s worth checking out the ArtStation profiles of all three artists to see what they worked on for Apex Legends Season 2.
