NBA 2K19 Fan Favorites Packs Arrive With MyTeam Community Faves Kristaps Porzingis, Andrei Kirilenko, & More
With just under a month and a half until NBA 2K20 launches, the excitement of MyTeam may be fading with NBA 2K19. However, 2K is continuing to bring forth new packs including special cards for gamers to add to their current rosters. That includes new cards in the NBA 2K19 Fan Favorites packs which bring forth top cards for players 2K considers “community favorites”. Among them are international stars Kristaps Porzingis and Andrei Kirilenko.
New NBA 2K19 Fan Favorites packs details
Over the past month or so, we’ve seen 2K19 bring out more Throwback Playoff Moments cards and Signature Series packs. The latest addition to the MyTeam Market are the NBA 2K19 Fan Favorites packs in “deluxe” edition. On Friday, 2K unveiled the new promotion and showed off several of the big cards to go for in these packs.
Featured cards include former Utah Jazz player Andrei Kirilenko and one of the Dallas Mavericks’ new roster additions, Kristaps Porzingis. During his NBA playing days, Kirilenko was an all-around stat machine. His all-time averages include 11.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.8 blocks, and 1.4 steals a game. Basically, he gave everything to his teams which also included the Brooklyn Nets for the final three years of his career. He could be a great fit for a MyTeam roster based on his production in all areas.
While “The Unicorn” has yet to really play for the Mavs, Dallas fans are hopeful he’ll play at his previous All-Star level. Many of his fans will be looking to add the Galaxy Opal to their current 2K19 MyTeam roster. Porzingis brings height, wing span, and scoring abilities to a MyTeam front court in need.
2K also indicated there are Galaxy Opal cards for Danny Granger, Manute Bol, and “more” available in these packs. As of this report, the packs area on 2K19 for PS4 didn’t have a full list of all the top player cards inside.
Fan reception, where to get new player cards
Many gamers who still participate in MyTeam seemed to have a lukewarm reception to the new NBA 2K19 Fan Favorites packs. There are those who are excited for the AK47 and Kristaps Galaxy Opal cards, but others are feeling it’s another “money grab” by 2K ahead of the new game’s release. NBA 2K20 has a demo coming out in August and the official launch as of September 6. Some gamers are content to simply wait to see what the new 2K20 MyTeam will offer.
Still, for those who are staying competitive with 2K19, the latest packs are available at MyTeam Market. A single pack of five cards currently costs 15,000 VC or 17,250 MT. There’s also a deal for 10 packs at 135,000 VC. The 10 packs deal includes one guaranteed Fan Favorites player card per pack, giving a good opportunity to score one of the cards mentioned above. The NBA 2K19 Fan Favorites packs are available for the next week on the MyTeam Market.
Also, keep a look out at the Auction House where new cards tend to go up for bidding. It may take a bit of time for these player cards to start popping up on the NBA 2K19 MyTeam Auction area as the packs just debuted.
