At last, after a few months of promotion and marketing, Gearbox is finally releasing concrete information about the four new Borderlands 3 Vault Hunters. Earlier this week, the studio released a trailer and skill tree details for Zane Flynt. Now, the latest Borderlands 3 character trailer puts the focus on Moze, “the Gunner”; a fearsome former soldier with the ability to summon a huge armoured mech.
“The BFFs”: The Moze Borderlands 3 Character Trailer
In fact, the new Borderlands 3 character trailer for Moze focuses almost exclusively on Iron Bear, her mech. According to the backstory released in her cosplay guide, Moze was once a soldier in the Ursa Corps, part of the Vladof corporation’s military. Fans get a glimpse of this part of her life during the trailer, where she and other soldiers deploy into a war-zone in Iron Bear mechs. Since then, Moze has seemingly left the service of Vladof to become a Vault Hunter.
In Borderlands 3, every Vault Hunter has three different skill trees. Each of these has an associated Action Skill. For instance, Zane Flynt has skills to summon a holographic clone, an attack drone, and a barrier shield. Moze, however, has a slightly different take on her Action Skills. She is always able to summon Iron Bear, but her Action Skills change the mech’s specific armaments.
Her Bottomless Mags skill tree equips Iron Bear with a minigun and a Salamander flamethrower. The Demolition Woman skill tree grants it a V-35 Grenade Launcher and a Vanquisher Rocket Pod. Finally, the Shield of Retribution skill tree gives the mech a railgun and a “Bear Fist”. Thanks to Moze’s unique skill tree design, she can actually mix and match which of these weapons she has equipped at any one time. The Iron Bear can have any two weapons equipped at a time, or even two of the same weapon.
