If you’ve been long awaiting a Halo TV series, you probably have been following news on the development of the adaptation that Showtime has picked up. And now, we have some exciting news to report. Showtime has just announced some main cast members of the series.
Here is Who Will Be Starring in the Halo TV Series on Showtime
You probably already know that Pablo Schreiber will be playing Master Chief. That news came out in April. But now, additional cast members are known to include Natascha McElhone, Bokeem Woodbine, Shabana Azmi, Bentley Kalu, Natasha Culzac, and Kate Kennedy.
Among these names, one of the most important is Natascha McElhone. She will be portraying both Cortana and Dr. Catherine Halsey. Also noteworthy is Bokeem Woodbine, known for roles in Fargo and Spider-Man: Homecoming. Woodbine is cast as a private soldier named Soren-066. We also know that Shabana Azmi is cast as Admiral Margaret Parangosky.
But what about the remaining actors on the list? None of the characters they will play in the Halo TV series are from the games; they are completely original. But we do know a little bit about them. Natasha Culzac’s character is an enhanced assassin called Spartan Riz-028. Bentley Kalu’s character is Master Chief’s enhanced supersoldier deputy, Spartan Vannak-134. As to Kate Kennedy, she is also cast as a supersoldier. Her character will be Spartan Kai-125.
Want to find out more about the show while we are waiting for more news on its development? A few weeks back, Pablo Schreiber shared his workout routine for playing Master Chief. He’s been training under Eddie Raburn, who helped get actors in shape for films such as Spider-Man: Homecoming, Blade Runner 2049 and Suicide Squad.
Production for the show is slated to begin later this year. Otto Bathurst will direct, and there will be 10 episodes in the first season, each of them running an hour. While we wait for the show, we also have Halo Infinite to look forward to. Though we’ll be waiting on that for quite some time too, as it is due to release in late 2020.
