Respawn is Trialling an Apex Legends Solo Mode for a Limited Time

Yesterday, Respawn announced an upcoming event known as the Iron Crown Collection Event. What makes this especially important is that the event will coincide with the trial of an all-new Apex Legends Solo Mode. At present, there is no way to play Apex as a solo player; you have to fight as a member of a team. If this trial is well-received, that fact could change at some point in the future…

The Upcoming Apex Legends Solo Mode

Thus far, Respawn hasn’t revealed much besides the start date of the upcoming Iron Crown Collection Event. It will begin on the 13th of August and end on the 27th. The event will feature Solos “for a limited time,” but that time is presumably the same as the event duration itself. A Respawn Community Manager also made the announcement on Reddit. However, they simply wrote; “On 8/13 we’ll be trying out a Solos Mode in Apex for a limited time. We’ll talk more about Solos when it’s live and you’ve had a chance to play it. For now we’re going to put it out there and see what happens and what kind of feedback we get. More to come on 8/13!”

As such, it seems that Respawn doesn’t plan to release any concrete information about the Apex Legends Solo Mode ahead of time. For instance, it’s unknown how exactly the Solos Mode will be different; whether any gameplay mechanics will be tweaked or balancing adjusted, for instance.

Apex Legends Solo Mode Coming Next Week 2

It’s also currently unclear what the “Iron Crown Collection Event” will actually be. Details on this new event are similarly under wraps for the time being. Previous events have brought new cosmetics to the game, for example, but it’s unknown if that will be the same this time. For now, fans will have to wait and see what comes to Apex Legends on the 13th of August. This is very likely to be a first trial of Solos to gauge player feedback. If it’s well-received, then it’s likely that Respawn may hone the mode with a view to making it a permanent addition in the future.
