Debates are always running amongst basketball fans about which team or NBA decade had the best all-time player. Was it the 1990s with Mike and Pippen, or is today’s starting five with KD and LeBron better? Those debates continue to linger everywhere but thanks to NBA 2K’s game, there’s a way to simulate and play these sorts of matchups. Enter the NBA 2K20 Legendary Teams which will feature All-decade squads full of stars in the upcoming basketball game.
New NBA 2K20 Legendary Teams revealed with All-Decade squads
The announcement of new NBA 2K20 Legendary Teams came via 2K’s social media profiles on August 13. Only four of these teams are show, going from the current 2010s era to the 1980s. All of the starting lineups revealed so far look pretty impressive though.
It’s a who’s who of the All-Star players over the past 30-plus years including Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and Shaquille O’Neal. Several of the players appear on more than one of the lineups too. Here’s a look at the starting fives shown on NBA 2K’s Twitter.
Jordan, LeBron amongst featured stars
There’s no surprise that Michael Jordan and LeBron James appear on two different squads. These two are the guys constantly compared to each other when it comes to those “G.O.A.T.” debates. MJ appears amongst 19980s and 1990s stars. LeBron appears on both the 2000s and 2010s lineups. That makes sense as he’s the top-rated player for the upcoming NBA 2K20 ratings. So is Kawhi Leonard, so it will be interesting to see if he makes the roster.
For those NBA fans wanting to know who all is pictured, here’s the breakdown of the four NBA 2K20 Legendary Teams’ starting fives.

We’ve yet to see the full rosters for these teams, so that will be interesting. It could certainly provide some great matchups amongst NBA fans out there looking to prove they know which decade is best of them all!
The new NBA 2K20 game arrives on September 6, 2019 for Sony PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox One, and Window PCs.
