The wait is finally over, at least to try out a major part of the NBA 2K20 game. On Wednesday, 2K released the NBA 2K20 demo for gamers to test out on select consoles. It brings the NBA 2K20 MyPlayer mode under the spotlight with a number of archetypes to choose from. In addition, there are brand new badges, something a lot of the gaming community has been waiting to see!
NBA 2K20 demo provides MyPlayer Archetypes to test out
With the arrival of the NBA 2K20 demo came a brand new video trailer showing off the MyPlayer mode of the game. It provides a look at NBA 2K20’s MyCareer mode involving the journey a MyPlayer takes to get to the professional league. The brand new MyPlayer Builder is front and center giving “more control than ever before.” It allows gamers to adjust every aspect of the MyPlayer including a choice of the Takeover to give them.
There are over 100 archetypes to try out and gamers can play in a real game to see how their MyPlayer performs. There are also 50 new NBA 2K20 Badges. Whenever your player gets an upgrade, gamers can choose which badges are affected. As mentioned in the video, there are more options than ever with the customized player.
With MyPlayer, also comes MyCareer mode where you can guide your character through the new in-game story. That’s showcased in the demo video trailer below with the main theme being the idea that winning championships is the goal NBA players are aiming for.
Playstation Store issues arrive with demo
The new NBA 2K20 demo released at 11 a.m. Eastern Time (8 a.m. PT) on Wednesday. It arrived at the respective stores for Sony PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch. See our NBA 2K20 demo download details for how to get the free demo on your console.
Of course, the free demo didn’t come without issues, as a number of gamers reported problems with Sony PlayStation Store loading. While the storefront seems to show up, attempts to log in may bring some individuals a blank screen with a spinning wheel. So, there seems no choice but to wait it out until some time has passed. If possible, wait until a later hour (overnight) to perform the download and install. There are still over two weeks until the game arrives.
The good news is once the demo is downloaded and installed, gamers can start testing out which MyPlayer they want to use in the full game. That choice will carry over to the full NBA 2K20 game which releases on September 6, 2019.
