In Destiny 1, Bungie added an event called Sparrow Racing League also known as SRL. This event began on December 8, 2015, and ended on December 29, 2015. This event was all about racing with your Sparrows inside Destiny 1. Guardians race with their sparrows for better loot and glory. This event was brought back in Rise of Iron on December 13, 2016, with The Dawning. There were specific maps designed for this event. These courses were Campus Martius on Mars, Infinite Descent on Venus, Shining Sands on Mercury, and Haakon Precipice on Earth.

Now, after the release of Destiny 2 back in 2017, Bungie removed (and added) a lot of new features to this date. They’ve revamped the whole loot system, added Glory ranking in the Crucible, and made a whole new PvP-PvE hybrid activity – Gambit and Gambit Prime. And for some time, they’ve featured Trials of the Nine (Trials of Osiris returning in Destiny 2) and Factions Rallies in Destiny 2 as well.
Let’s talk about Sparrow Racing League in Destiny 2. SRL was last appeared in Destiny: Rise of Iron on December 13, 2016, in Year 3 of Destiny 1. After that, we haven’t heard anything about SRL from Bungie.
Why Should SRL Return in Destiny 2?
Well, if you take a look at the seasonal events, this season we’ve had Solstice of Heroes. Last season (Season of the Drifter) we’ve got The Revelry. As we know, Destiny 2 has been shifted from one fall expansion model to seasonal model (to prevent content drought). I think, this year in December, Bungie should bring back the Sparrow Racing League in Destiny 2.
I, for myself, have been waiting for this activity since forever and I cannot wait to play this inside Destiny 2 with upgraded graphics and new Loot. What are your thoughts on this?
Destiny 2: Shadowkeep will be hitting PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, on October 1, 2019, and later in November on Google Stadia.
