One of the additions for EA’s NHL 20 game will be NHL 20 Alumni teams. These will be current and former teams from the NHL featuring some of the all-time best players, aka the alumni players from over the years. As fans might expect, it means top stars like Mark Messier, Joe Sakic, and Gordie Howe will skate again with their teams. Just recently, EA unveiled all of the NHL 20 Alumni players that will be a part of the soon-to-be-released title.
Gordie Howe, Joe Sakic headline NHL 20 Alumni Players
The NHL has quite the history of stars who have skated, scored, and fought their way across the ice over the years. In a recent unveiling of the extensive list of NHL 20 Alumni players we see major stars like Larry Robinson (Canadiens), Mark Messier (Nordiques), Joe Sakic (Rangers), and Gordie Howe (Red Wings). There are a lot more player names to sift through, though.
“The Great One” Wayne Gretzky appears on the list along with fellow alumni stars Steve Yzerman (Red Wings), Ray Borque (Bruins), and Mario Lemieux (Penguins). Marty McSorley, Teemu Selanne, Nicklas Lidstrom, Mike Modano, and Jeremy Roenick are all there as well.
The EA NHL 20 Alumni players listing goes alphabetically by first names but doesn’t reveal which teams they represent. Some of these stars played for multiple teams but most fans will be able to guess which they’ll appear for based on where they may have excelled the most in their career. It’s unknown if any players will appear on more than one of the NHL 20 Alumni Teams, though.
With the NHL 20 Alumni teams, gamers will be able to create customized matchups to see which squads would do best. It also appears they’ll be able to play exhibition matchups between current teams and alumni teams for some interesting battles.
The new NHL 20 game arrives on Friday, September 13, 2019, for the Sony PlayStation 4, and Microsoft’s Xbox One. See our details about NHL 20 pre-orders ahead of the game’s official release date.
