PlayStation Plus October 2019 Free Games: When To Expect October’s Free Games Announcement
Most months, Sony lets us know what free games we will play next month through our PS Plus memberships on the final Wednesday of the month. So for this month, that should be Wednesday, the 25th.
PlayStation Plus October 2019 Free Games: September Selection
The September 2019 free games selection for PlayStation Plus is pretty awesome. Right now, we’re playing Batman: Arkham Knight and Darksiders III. Read more about both in our September 2019 free games announcement post. It is hard to imagine that next month’s free games are going to be this impressive, but we’re hoping for the best. Sony hasn’t been letting us down lately, that’s for sure.
PlayStation Plus October 2019 Free Games: October Predictions
So what are some possible PlayStation Plus October 2019 free games? As is tradition, we’ll base our guesses on the upcoming game releases which are slated for the near future.
Our first prediction is Anomaly: Warzone Earth. We’re predicting this game because it comes from 11 bit studios, and that studio has another game coming out on October 11th, Frostpunk: Console Edition. Anomaly: Warzone Earth came out in 2011 initially, and eventually made it to PS4. It can be referred to as a “reverse tower defense” game.
Our next prediction is Ōkami. We noticed that a game based on Japanese folklore called Raging Loop is due to release on October 18th on PS4 and Switch. So we thought maybe another game based on Japanese folklore might be free next month. Ōkami is a Capcom-published game developed by Clover Studio. The game not only received glowing reviews universally, but won a number of awards. Okami HD was featured free for PS3 through PlayStation Plus in 2013, but has not been free since. This would be an awesome time to make it happen.
Next in our predictions list is The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II. This game has not yet been free through PlayStation Plus. Now would be the most logical time to make it so, since The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III is coming out on October 22nd for PlayStation 4.
Our last prediction for October’s free games list is an FPS sports game titled RIGS: Mechanized Combat League. This game is available for PS4 and is compatible with PlayStation VR. So, the reason it is on our list is because the developer is Guerrilla Cambridge. Back when this studio used to be called SCE Studio Cambridge, it developed the original MediEvil for PalyStation in 1998. A remake of that classic is due to release on October 25th.
