To the delight of professional wrestling game fans, WWE 2K announced a major feature returning with 2K20. The WWE 2K20 game will feature Online Lobbies, something quite popular within the community. In addition, gamers received new details about Daily Match Challenges, and MyPlayer Evolution, as well as a first look at the WWE 2K20 menu screen.
WWE 2K20 tones down menu screen, brings back Online Lobbies
First and foremost, check out the screenshot below which shows off a WWE 2K20 menu screen. Based on that shot alone, plenty of gamers are celebrating the fact they won’t have a bright white screen to contend with. In 2K19, it was an interesting all-white menu screen, which some gamers complained was a major headache when playing the game at night.
The other major reason for excitement is the return of Online Lobbies in WWE 2K20. With this feature, gamers are able to set up custom “Lobbies” for the type of online match they want to play with friends and possibly others.
The customization allows for one gamer to select a match type with up to six players involved. In addition, choice of the arena, Superstar gender, and an option to only allow default WWE Superstars will be available. Once the players are all in the lobby, voice chat becomes available as the match is put into motion. It can involve only friends, or have open slots for general public participants to get involved too.
Gamers who want to get involved in an online match can browse the Lobbies in WWE 2K20 which need one or two more players. There’s also going to be a search filter allowing gamers to choose their match preference. There’s also a “Quick Play” option to be placed into a match automatically. Here’s a screenshot of WWE 2K20’s reveal for the Lobbies screen.
MyPlayer Evolution & Daily Refreshed Match Challenges
With WWE 2K20 MyCareer, gamers are going to create not just one, but two MyPlayer Superstars for the new game. They’ll create a unique male and female superstar to advance through the story. Both of these customized superstars will level up side-by-side through MyCareer, MyPlayer Towers, and Road to Glory.
The other new aspect that 2K20 will have is the ability to use “special creation parts” unlocked in those modes in Create-a-Superstar. Additionally, gamers can export their MyPlayer appearance into the general character creation area of the game. This will allow for greater flexibility in customizing new superstars for your roster.
WWE 2K20 also announced that Road to Glory includes female matches for the first time in the history of the 2K lineup. They’re also adding a new Tonight’s Match feature in the Multiplayer area. This gives a different type of match on a daily basis for MyPlayers to participate in.
In addition to that, Road to Glory Feature Match will give MyPlayer characters the potential to participate in matches such as Triple Threat, Fatal 4-Way or 6-Man matches. Both the male and female MyPlayer characters will get chances to compete in these so they can level up or progress.
Another new detail is that once the WWE 2K Originals content arrives, it can mean some of the daily matches include venues or characters from those. So that could bring WWE 2K20 Originals: Bump in the Night settings or superstars into these particular matches. They’ll be part of the game whether you have the 2K Originals content for your game or not.
The new WWE 2K20 video game arrives on October 22, 2019, for PS4, Xbox One, and Windows PCs. Check out WWE 2K20 pre-order details for what each edition of the game brings to your console or PC.
