WWE 2K20 Roster Reveal Begins With International Superstars, Johnny Gargano Reacts to His Rating
With WWE 2K20 set to arrive in just about two weeks, 2K has already revealed a number of the playable superstars that will be in the game. Fans have seen those characters revealed through gameplay images, video trailers, and other related items. On Monday (Oct. 7), a WWE 2K20 roster reveal kicked off as several of the game’s international superstars were revealed online. In addition, at least one superstars’ WWE 2K20 rating has been revealed.
WWE 2K20 roster reveal: Kalisto, Bille Kay, Tucker among first superstars
WWE made things somewhat international for this week’s start of the roster reveal. They put the emphasis on superstars from around the globe on Monday, with different 2K Twitter accounts providing reveals for mostly superstars fans knew would be in the game. However, they opened with a surprising reveal. For example, the 2K United Kingdom Twitter started things off by revealing that Trent Seven will officially be a part of the WWE 2K20 roster.
The 2K France Twitter revealed Sami Zayn’s inclusion in the upcoming 2K20 game. There’s not much surprise there, as Zayn’s been associated with WWE 2K games for several years now. Several other non-surprises arrived in the form of Kalisto and Billie Kay. Tucker was also revealed for the game, after making his debut in 2K19 with a 75 rating last year.
Fans are reacting to the roster reveals so far, by criticizing the lack of promotion or information being given out as the game is just a few weeks away. In addition, many fans are calling for the announcement of specific superstars as part of the game.
Some of the popular choices on Twitter seem to be Tonya Contiri, Jinny, Torrie Wilson, Kelly Kelly, and the late Ashley Massaro. Mostly, fans are upset with how the reveal is happening. Last year’s reveal took place with a multiple-part live stream video series hosted by Lana and Rusev.
It seems this year’s reveal is much simpler with 2K providing entrance videos or screenshots leading up to the release. Most likely, they’ll post a comprehensive list on their website ahead of the game’s release.
NXT Star Johnny Gargano’s rating reveal
One of the main stars of the NXT roster is easily Johnny Gargano, who also happens to be a major fan of video games and comic books. Gargano promoted WWE 2K overseas and is now amongst the first of the superstars to learn what his rating is for the new video game. A YouTube video shows Gargano learning what his WWE 2K20 rating is and reacting to the reveal.
The 84 rating is quite an improvement for Johnny Gargano but well deserved. He was an 80 in last year’s game and an 81 in WWE 2K18. However, his past year included winning the NXT North American Championship and the main prize, the NXT Championship.
Gargano now gets a four-point boost as fans still believe he deserves more than an 84. Some have even mentioned they’ll adjust Gargano’s rating higher when the game is out. That’s typically possible with WWE’s settings so hopefully, the new game has the same. However, the important thing is that Gargano says he was happy with the improved rating. Still, he won’t be completely satisfied until it’s a 99.
The new WWE 2K20 video game officially arrives on October 22, 2019, for the Sony PS4, Microsoft Xbox One, and Windows PCs.
