Borderlands 3 Weapons Patch Brings an Array of Damage Buffs

While players are enjoying the easy rewards of Borderlands 3’s Eridium week, Gearbox has rolled out a new patch. While Moze, FL4K, and Zane players have gotten a major buff, the patch also includes buffs for a wide variety of the Borderlands 3 weapons. Primarily, the improvements focus on damage increases for specific guns.

The Latest Set of Changes for the Borderlands 3 Weapons

Previous Borderlands 3 weapons patches have implemented sweeping alterations that affect, for example, all Maliwan firearms, or all Torgue rocket launchers. This time, the patch focuses more on fine-tuning, making specific changes to individual firearms. However, most of the alterations are positive, with damage increases coming to guns from most of the game’s manufacturers.

In the case of Maliwan, damage increases apply to the ASMD (+28%), Cutsman (+25%), and Westergun (+25%). Tediore simply gets a +8% damage increase for the Ten Gallon. Meanwhile, Jakobs gets +8% damage for the Hellwalker and +35% damage for Maggie. Dahl’s Vanquisher gets +20% damage, while Atlas’ Ruby’s Wrath gets +10%. Three Children of the Vault guns also get damage boosts; Linoge (+20%), Pain is Power (+25%), and Skeksis (+15%). The Legendary Elemental Projector artifact has had a bug fix to display the correct max value as 90%.

Meanwhile, three of the Hyperion firearms have gotten tweaks. The Conference Call, for instance, now does +15% damage. However, two Hyperion guns have also been nerfed. The Butcher now does 25% less damage, while its accuracy has also gone down. The Crossroad has also had an accuracy reduction, although it now fires 3 projectiles, rather than 4.

Changes to Torgue and Vladof Weapons

Torgue gets several damage increases of their own, to the Alchemist (+25%), Devils Foursum (+13%), and Try-Bolt (+25%). Additionally, the Laser-Sploder rocket projectiles now spawn less frequently, with a +0.4 second interval increase. Additionally, the Flakker has had a nerf. It now consumes the whole magazine when fired, with a 33% damage decrease. “We initially believed the resulting projectile spread would cause most of the explosions to hit the target,” explains Gearbox; “however this turned out to be false, so we reduced the projectile damage and allowed the weapon to fire only once per magazine. This change encourages players to capitalise on different stat bonuses to maximise the weapon’s damage output.”

Of all the Borderlands 3 weapon manufacturers, Vladof received the most changes in this latest patch. The following weapons have received damage increases; Faisor (+15%), Infiniti (+40%), Jericho (+40%), Magnificent (+25%), and Sickle (+25%). Additionally, the Lucian’s Call has had a nerf to both accuracy and handling. Finally, the Lyuda’s Critical Damage Bonus has gone down to 30%, and it has also had a bug fix. “The Lyuda’s functionality is to split the projectile from 1 to 3 after a certain distance,” explains Gearbox; “It was reported that the original projectile was never destroyed in the process of splitting so 1 projectile actually became 4. Addressing this concern effectively removed a full shot’s worth of damage which auto-corrects the base damage of the weapon. Since we increased all sniper rifle critical damage bonus in a previous hotfix, we reduced some of the critical damage bonus on the Lyuda.”
