Bungie has been roaming around all of Australia and answering the top questions that Destiny 2 players have for the game. Recently, we’ve got a report from GameSpot regarding the past, the present, and the future of Destiny 2 which actually turned out to be – Destiny 3 (not that we already know, but still). This time, we have got an update regarding the Xur, The Goodie Master in Destiny 2. If you don’t know who Xur is, he is the Agent of the Nine who comes in every Friday at reset and leaves every Weekly reset on Tuesday. He brings random exotic items (Weapons and Armor) for you to grab.
Xur And The Future of Destiny 2

PC Gamer interviewed Bungie’s Design Director Victoria Dollbaum and asked her a couple of questions regarding Destiny 2. One of these questions was about Xur and how his inventory can be changed since he’s mostly useless now that everyone has gotten most of the exotics in the game. Here’s what she has to say about it:
Q. Now that Xur only sells the same rolls on exotics as are found in the collection he seems irrelevant, despite being one of the game’s cult characters. Are there any thoughts about how Xur could become valuable again, or is he only intended for new players?
A. I think with Xur, the current moment is intended as kind of catch up for players who are returning or new, not so much for the bleeding edge players who have everything and are looking for special rolls and things like that. It could be that Xur at some point is re-purposed, but that just depends on: is there a need? Are those people who are on the bleeding edge and have all the things… is there a need for them to have more of that? Or is it that Xur’s role is the thing to catch players up who don’t have exotics?
So, there we have it. It the need arises, Bungie could revamp Xur’s inventory and adds/remove the items. What are your thoughts on this? Let us know in the comments!
Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is now live on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, released on October 1, 2019, and later in November on Google Stadia.
