Borderlands 3 Hotfixes Bring ECHOcast Twitch Extension to Consoles

Earlier today, Gearbox launched the Borderlands 3 Bloody Harvest event, a new Halloween-themed event that will be running until December. Alongside that release, the studio also launched the latest round of hotfixes for the game, which include a variety of fixes, balance tweaks, and updates. Most notably, the hotfixes finally brought console support for the Borderlands 3 ECHOcast Twitch extension, as well as Mayhem Mode and Photo Mode.

Console Support for Borderlands 3 ECHOcast Twitch Extension and More

The Borderlands 3 ECHOcast Twitch extension is an extension which allows streamers and their audience to interact with each other on Borderlands 3 Twitch streams. Viewers can spawn loot and Badass enemies, for example, and also receive loot for their own games. However, until now this feature has only been available on the PC version of the game. Thanks to this latest patch, console support for the extension is now available on both the PS4 and Xbox One.

Additionally, the patch also adds console support for Mayhem Mode as part of the game’s True Vault Hunter Mode, as well as a Photo Mode. Both of these had also only been available on PC. The release comes just in time to give console players a chance to participate in the Mayhem on Twitch weekly event; an event which is currently available in-game, though only for a few more days. Mayhem on Twitch is the fourth weekly event of the ongoing Borderlands 10-year anniversary celebration. It adds bonus rewards to both Mayhem Mode and the ECHOcast Twitch extension.

Of course, the latest round of hotfixes also includes plenty more specific fixes and updates. You can check out the detailed patch notes on the official Borderlands website here. This week’s update focuses more on general fixes and improvements rather than weapon balancing; what has been the focus of the last few hotfix releases. However, a general weapons balancing patch is reportedly in the works.
