World of Tanks: Tank Soccer Mode Returns

Wargaming announced the return of the Tank Soccer Mode in World of Tanks along with some extra additions and improvements compared to the original mode that was released back in 2016. Grab your Tanks and prepare to score since this event starts on June 14 (02:00 PT, 04:00 CT, 07:00 ET) and will run until July 29 (04:20 PT, 06:20 CT, 07:20 ET).

Only two years ago, Wargaming released a Tank Soccer Mode to celebrate the soccer frenzy that was going on in France that summer. This year, this mode returns for the celebration of the biggest footballing nations around the world, including England, which will travel to Russia to prove who is best.

The rules are simple: You grab your Tank and two of your friends and you kick the ball until you score three goals and win the game. If you do not succeed in scoring three goals, the game will end after seven minutes and the winner will be the team with the most goals. On the other hand, in the event of a draw, there will be a version of a Golden Goal, which will add four extra minutes for both teams in order to bag a winner. If there is no goal scored during Golden Goal, the winner will be the first team to have 100 possession points in the enemy’s half.

The mode is a 3v3 one using extra special maps and tanks. One of the biggest changes to this year’s Tank Soccer Mode is the introduction of role-specific tanks. Even more cool is the fact that each tank has a special unique ability and all these tanks will be added to your Garage before the event starts.

The E 100 Sport is a Defender Tank with a special ability called “Splash Damage.” It is not very fast or agile but its role is to guard your goal and defend the last line by clearing the ball or the opponents.

The AMX 13 105 Sport is a Striker Tank with a special ability called “Second Chance.” It has good speed, great acceleration and an astonishing rate of fire. Its role is to score.

The T-62A Sport is a Midfielder Tank with a special ability called “Boost.” Is a hybrid of both the Defender and Striker and has the top speed on the field.

Unfortunately, after the event ends, these special tanks will be removed along with their slots, but who cares? Let’s play Tank Soccer!
