Overwatch 2 Could Have A Ping System Like Apex Legends, Blizzard Says
With the official announcement of Overwatch 2, players have been digging into the list of new features and changes that this next installment will be bringing to the franchise. Currently, Overwatch only has a PvP mode along with a Competitive playlist. But with the release of Overwatch 2, Blizzard is adding an all-new PvE experience to the game. This will allow players to dive into the back story of the heroes. There are a lot of new features coming to Overwatch 2. New character models, upgraded graphics, and new modes, and now, Blizzard has pretty much confirmed that there might be a ping system coming to Overwatch 2 just like in Apex Legends.
Ping System Coming to Overwatch 2?
In an interview conducted by a YouTuber called “Samito” in which he asked the Game Director of Overwatch franchise Jeff Kaplan a question regarding whether or not we’ll have a ping system in this upcoming title in the Overwatch franchise? Here’s what Jeff said regarding this feature:
“Yes,” Kaplan replied. “We have a fantastic lead UI (user interface), designer. His name is Junho Kim. And he was talking to me last week that he wants to do experiments again with a ping system.” I know when Apex Legends came out, everybody loved their ping system and thought it was fantastic,” Kaplan added, reminiscing back to when the team actually experimented on something like that with the original Overwatch but were ultimately unhappy with it. Expect experimentation from us,” he continued. “We’ll see whether it sees the light of day or not.”

Overwatch was released on May 24, 2016, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Overwatch 2 doesn’t have an exact release date at this moment but is expected to hit the consoles and PC in 2020.
