As War in the Pacific, the latest Chapter of Battlefield 5, continues, DICE has been bringing more new content to the game through weekly challenges. With a third new map set to release next month, DICE has also now released two brand-new Battlefield 5 Elites; a pair of characters who are both themed around the war’s Pacific theatre. While the Allies get Jack Culver, the Axis get the first-ever Japanese Elite, Keisuke Nakamura.
Battlefield 5 Elites: Keisuke Nakamura
“Inspiring fearlessness in those who fight alongside him, Keisuke is an experienced, tactical, and natural-born commander, who always finds the perfect moment to strike,” writes DICE; “An authority on the battlefield and a skilled sidearm marksman, Keisuke believes a precision attack is more effective than the largest raid. Beware his skills – and his Hachiwari melee weapon.”
Battlefield 5 Elites are cosmetic packages which depict unique characters. While they don’t provide any actual gameplay benefit, they certainly do help players to stand out from the crowd on the battlefield. Each Elite features their own unique Outfit, a Best Squad animation, and unique voice lines. Plus, they also have a signature melee weapon for players to unlock for them. Keisuke Nakamura’s melee weapon is his Hachiwari, an unusual knife which originates in feudal Japan. The hooked blade was designed to parry blades, and folklore suggests that they could even break open helmets. (Although it is unlikely that they actually could.)
Keisuke Nakamura is the first Axis Elite to hail from Japan. Previous Battlefield 5 Elites for the Axis include Ilse Schattenwolf and Wilhelm Franke, both German. Whenever DICE releases new Elites, the studio always releases two; one for the Allies and one for the Axis. This time, Nakamura’s Allied counterpart is Jack Culver. Their release coincides with a new weekly challenge which is currently available in Battlefield 5; Inch by Inch gives players the chance to unlock a new Barbed Baseball Bat.
