Borderlands 3 Now on Sale and Free to Play on Consoles This Weekend
Gearbox has begun their Black Friday sale a little early, and in addition to putting Borderlands 3 on sale, the studio is promoting the game with a free to play weekend. The Borderlands 3 free to play weekend will end on Monday morning. The game is only available to play for free on Xbox One and PS4, however, not on PC.
The Borderlands 3 Free to Play Weekend and Black Friday Sale
The Borderlands 3 free to play weekend is currently live, and will remain so until 9:00 AM PST on the 25th of November. To try the game out for free, you’ll first need to look its standard edition up on the PlayStation or Xbox Store. There, you should see a “Try Free Demo” button which will let you download the game and start playing. Note that this button only appears alongside the standard edition, not the Deluxe or Super Deluxe versions. Until the weekend is over, you can play Borderlands 3 as much as you want; the whole game is included in the free trial. Plus, if you decide to purchase the game, all your progress will carry over.
For those gamers who are thinking about buying Borderlands 3, the next week is likely to be the best time to do so, at least for a while. Despite only launching two-and-a-half months ago, Gearbox has given Borderlands 3 a huge 33% sale discount. This discount applies to all three editions of the game. For now, this deal only applies to console versions of Borderlands 3. However, Gearbox does state that PC gamers should; “Lookout for PC deals coming soon”. Given that this is the start of a Black Friday sale, and with Black Friday coming up on the 29th, that PC deal is likely to arrive sooner rather than later.
With the launch earlier this week of Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite and Mayhem 4, along with new quality of life improvements, now is a great time to try out the game for the first time. Certainly, Borderlands 3 is very unlikely to hold another free to play weekend anytime soon, making this an excellent opportunity!
