A New Job Listing at Rockstar Might Hint at GTA 6

Rockstar has something of a reputation not just for being tight-lipped regarding their future plans, but also relatively leak-free, but every now and then a hint or two turns up about what they’re working on. The latest of these is a job listing which has emerged on Rockstar which might suggest that the studio is gearing up for work on GTA 6

GTA 6 Hints: The New Rockstar Job Listing

The job listing in question is one for a Character Costume & Wardrobe Stylist. Of course, the listing is relatively oblique when it comes to what the individual will be working on. However, it does focus on one area in particular; “We are looking for someone with a deep appreciation of the history and cultural importance which clothing plays in society,” reads the listing; “from past eras to modern, global street styles and trends.”

Of course, this is a far cry from any sort of confirmation one way or another. However, the specific reference to the “history and cultural importance of clothing,” is interesting. The various GTA titles have often been set at different points in recent history, and even at different times within the same game. Having a clear knowledge of clothing styles by time period would be important to keep the game feeling authentic.

It’s worth noting, of course, that it could actually be referring to ongoing post-launch work on Red Dead Redemption 2. Appropriate period clothing is, after all, an important part of making the Old West setting feel authentic. Whatever the case, Rockstar are highly unlikely to say anything public anytime soon about their next upcoming game. The studio hasn’t even confirmed what that next game will be. Indeed, with a new console generation coming in late 2020, it seems likely that the studio will be working to release their next game on the new hardware. As such, it’s unlikely that they will confirm anything before early-to-mid-2020, at the very earliest.
