As the weather has turned colder, that means the Madden Ultimate Team mode is also getting a bit chilly. On Monday, EA revealed the latest Madden 20 Zero Chill promotion complete with a new currency, Gingerbread Man items, and high-rated player rewards. Here’s a look at how to earn the Gingerbread Man cards and Kindling currency in the new promotion.
Kindling is the Madden 20 Zero Chill currency
Different promotions usually bring different currencies in Madden. The Blitz Boltz was one of the most recent for the Madden 20 Blitz promotion. That currency is no longer available, but as of Monday, Kindling is available as the currency associated with Madden 20 Zero Chill.
Upon logging into Ultimate Team, most gamers should receive 25 free Kindling along with a free Zero Chill player card. That card can sell for another 75 Kindling. So one way to get Kindling is by selling the Zero Chill player items. You can purchase one 85+ overall Zero Chill player for 150 Madden Points ($1.50 on the Store) for the promotion. We were able to pull an 85-OVR Damontae Kazee worth 396 Kindling.
Otherwise, there are Zero Chill Packs for 35,000 Madden Coins and Zero Chill Bundles for 1,050 Madden Points. The Store also has ways to buy Zero Chill Players for Training or Kindling.
Of course, you can also head into the Auction Browser and buy Zero Chill players for Madden Coins, then Quicksell for Kindling. The lowest cost player was just over 2,000 Madden Coins and returned 31 Kindling on PS4, as of this report.
The Zero Chill Challenges provide another way to rack up Kindling currency. Each challenge is worth Madden Coins and Kindling, depending on the number of Stars achieved. You’ll earn five Kindling if you achieve Three Stars. You’ll earn another five Kindling if you can beat the challenge on Five Stars.
So that means a maximum of 10 Kindling available per challenge times 10 challenges, or 100 total Kindling. You can spend the Kindling on items in the Store including Zero Chill players. There are different items available including a Small gift for 240 Kindling, a Medium gift for 1,290 Kindling, a Large gift for 4,170 and a 92-92 OVR player for 5,850 Kindling.
There’s also a 100 Kindling Quicksell card available for 100 Kindling. You’ll need this to defrost the Frozen Players found in the Hearth Packs.
Another way to get Kindling is through H2H Hearth. Inside the packs earned from getting wins in that H2H event are different goodies including presents, frozen players, and Kindling.
How to get the Gingerbread Man items
The Gingerbread Man cards are quite valuable too. By achieving those, gamers can put together exchange sets for the Gingerbread Masters NAT Players Adrian Peterson, Amari Cooper, and Ted Hendricks. Peterson’s 91 overall card requires three Gingerbread Man items. Cooper’s 92 OVR will need four, and Hendricks’ 93 OVR card needs six of them.
One way to earn the Gingerbread Man cards is by playing the Madden 20 Zero Chill Challenges. On the main screen for Ultimate Team scroll over to “Play” and then choose “Challenges.” Scroll to choose Zero Chill. Continue through the next few screens until you arrive at the “Snow Day” option. This gives you a series of 10 challenges worth up to five Stars each. Stars bring Coins and Kindling.
However, you also earn rewards for each “Tier” you achieve on the Challenges. For example, once you’ve achieved the 30 Stars level, you will get your first Gingerbread Man. You’ll earn them on additional tiers. These include Tier 4 at 60 Stars, Tier 5 at 90 Stars, Tier 7 at 120 Stars, Tier 9, and Tier 10, among others. By Tier 13, the rewards are greater, as you’ll earn two Gingerbread Man cards, for 310 Stars.
Basically, the more Stars you’ve compiled, the more Gingerbread Man cards you can achieve.
The other way to earn the Gingerbread Man cards is by playing in the Hearth H2H. This is a special House Rule event for the Madden 20 Zero Chill promo. The rules will change for it every Monday at 10 a.m. Eastern Time during the promotion.
In the H2H Hearth event, you’ll be able to win a Hearth Pack after three wins. These contain goodies including Kindling, small presents, or frozen players. In the H2H event, you also get a Gingerbread Man card at five wins, 15 wins, 30, 50, 70, 90, and 100. There are also Gingerbread Man cards given for 110, 120, 130, 145, 160, 175, and 190 wins in H2H Hearth.
