Battlefield V Customization Switch Requested By The Community, Is It Viable?

Over the past weeks, one thing divided the community of Battlefield, the customization feature coming to the new title. Fans are requesting a Battlefield V Customisation Switch, which can provide a more realistic version of the game to those who feel like this new feature is ruining the experience for them.

The Battlefield V Customisation Switch is simple to understand but not as easy to execute as a developer. What the community suggests is an on-off setting for the customization feature. Have it turned on to view players as their created characters, with their gender, cosmetics etc. Turn the switch to have Battlefield V as its predecessors were, all same characters with just faction based gear.

How can this benefit DICE though and is it easy to be put in the game? As a bystander, I can tell that this might solve issues within the community and create a safe haven for all players, to experience the game the way they want. However, from a developing standpoint, this is far too much pressure to put on a developing team striving to release their game in less than 5 months.

In the past, we saw the same backlash happening with Star Wars Battlefront 2 and at that time the whole project had to be reinvented. The Battlefield V Customisation Switch may actually be an easy way for any future backlash to be prevented and for the community to feel like their voice is heard.

On the other hand, DICE has created a game that is along their lines and developed based on what they wanted it to be. If you look at it as no dedicated fan, you might realize that the developing team is in no obligation to change their perspective to the fans’ liking event if they do it most of the times.

The Battlefield V Customisation Switch is not a project of reality, merely a discussion among the Battlefield V community. If DICE decides to provide such a feature to the players we’ll let you know.
