Alongside Wake Island, Community Games, and other recent additions in War in the Pacific, DICE recently released Battlefield 5 Update 5.2. This update prompted criticism from fans for a variety of changes made to firearm BTK and other areas. Now, the studio has released a hotfix, Update 5.2.2, which seeks to address several of these issues.
New Changes in Battlefield 5 Update 5.2.2
“With thanks to the feedback shared with us,” wrote DICE in a post about Battlefield 5 Update 5.2.2; “BTK values on guns which have been too heavily impacted by the changes will change; both up close, and at range. You’ve told us you don’t like the way some of the guns behave since Update 5.2, and we’re keen to acknowledge the weapons that we got wrong.”

First of all, before we get to weapons, Update 5.2.2 does address other issues with the game’s Enemy Acquisition System. The icon which appears when players are close to enemy players has been completely removed, for example. Additionally, the system’s activation range has been reduced to 20m when players aim directly at enemies. According to DICE, this is to offset the “removal of ‘Passive Spotting.'”
