WWE 2K20 Crash Occurs on New Year’s Day, 2K Support Reports Issue is Resolved

Plenty of people were upset on New Year’s Day as a WWE 2K20 crash hit the popular professional wrestling game. It brought even more bad publicity for a game that has already been suffering in terms of issues since its release date. However, 2K Support eventually let fans know that the issue was fixed for the video game.

WWE 2K20 crash occurs on New Year’s Day

To say there have been WWE 2K20 problems is an understatement. They seemed to have been fixed through several game patches and updates. That was until New Year’s Day arrived.

Reports arrived from a variety of people on social media that they were dealing with a WWE 2K20 crash on January 1, 2020. According to a Twitter post from popular YouTube channel SmackTalks, the game wouldn’t let them load anything in 2020. Other users commented they noticed a crash but only when trying certain modes on the PlayStation 4, so it’s unknown if it only affected certain accounts or certain modes.

Luckily, 2K Support stepped in to let gamers know they knew of the issue and were “investigating” things to find a solution. That was at 8:35 a.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday morning.

At least one gamer suggested a quick fix for the time saying that people could set the date back a day on their specific console. So that meant setting the date to 12/31/2019 so the game wouldn’t crash in 2020. SmackTalk also provided a YouTube how-to video about the fix.

2K Support reports update on crash issue

At 2:15 p.m. ET, 2K Support announced that the issue was resolved. They also told gamers to restart their game in order to download a fix for the WWE 2K20 crash. In addition, they provided the helpful support ticket like via 2K Games for those gamers still having any issues.

The WWE 2K20 crash comes not long after they just released a new part of the 2K20 Originals Wasteland Wanderer DLC featuring a Ricochet Tower. However, it adds yet another complaint for a game that received terrible reviews due to how the product was released full of glitches.

For now, those gamers still playing WWE 2K20 are hoping 2K developers fixed most of the major problems in the game. However, it still leaves people wondering what the fate of the WWE 2K franchise will be in 2020.
