Given that God of War came out almost two years ago, many players, particularly later adopters of the title, will have missed out on the game’s original pre-order bonuses. After all, such bonuses usually become impossible to get once a game releases. However, for just the next few days, Sony Santa Monica Studios is making those original God of War pre-order bonuses free for all players.
The God of War Pre-Order Bonuses and How to Get Them
When God of War first released back in April of 2018, gamers could get a variety of different armour and shield skins as pre-order bonuses. Since then, Santa Monica Studios has (very rarely) made these items available for limited periods, and one of these periods has now started. The original pre-order bonuses are currently available, but only until 12:00 AM PST on the 10th of January. As such, if you don’t have these items already, then you’ll need to act quickly!
Gamers in North America can go here to download the God of War pre-order bonuses. Meanwhile, European gamers can use this link instead. Alternatively, you can just search for “God of War Holiday 2019” on the PlayStation Store to find the relevant store page. The bonuses include the Death’s Vow Armour Set for both Kratos and Atreus. Plus, you get an additional four shield skins; the Exile’s Guardian Shield Skin, Buckler of the Forge Shield Skin, Shining Elven Soul Shield Skin, and Dökkenshieldr Shield Skin.
Once you’ve downloaded them, these items will be available to equip in-game right away. If you start a new game, then they’ll be available at the start of the deer hunt section. It’s unknown when Santa Monica Studios might make these pre-order bonus items available again. As such, God of War fans should definitely take advantage of this offer while it’s still available. Given that the items are totally free to download, there really isn’t any downside.
