Madden 20 Flashbacks Players: Matthew Stafford, Steven Nelson Receive Ultimate Team Upgrades
It’s time for a few more blast from the past performances from the NFL as new Madden 20 Flashbacks cards have arrived. On Monday, January 20, EA’s Madden Twitch stream presented the latest cards for the Detroit Lions’ Matthew Stafford and Kansas City Chiefs’ Steven Nelson. Each player gets a new upgraded item which gamers may find helpful to add to their Ultimate Team rosters despite them being late in the season.
Madden 20 Flashbacks cards for Stafford, Nelson
The first of the new Madden 20 Flashbacks cards is for longtime Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford. While his 2019 season was cut short due to injury issues, Stafford has been amongst the league’s brightest stars since his 2009 debut.
In Week 17 of the 2011 season, he tried to lead the Lions to a win over division rivals Green Bay. They’d fall 45-41 but Stafford had a huge game. The Lions QB completed 36-of-59 passes with 520 yards and five touchdowns in his impressive effort.
For that, he receives a Flashbacks upgrade with a 93 overall rating. The new card also features 96 Throw Power, 91 Play Action, 90 Throw Accuracy Short, and 87 Throw Accuracy Deep, along with Power Up options. It’s perfect for Lions theme teams in need of a better quarterback option.
Steven Nelson has been in the NFL since 2015. Up until the latest season, the cornerback spent his first four with the Kansas City Chiefs. He currently plays with the Steelers’ defense. Still, Nelson probably wishes he was part of that KC roster with Patrick Mahomes heading to the Super Bowl.
Nonetheless, Chiefs fans can upgrade their theme teams with his new item. Nelson’s Week 9 performance from the 2016 season gets him the new card. In the 19-14 win against Jacksonville, Nelson was a key part of the Chiefs’ defense. He’d come up with three passes defended, two solo tackles, a quarterback hit, and a fumble recovery.
His new Madden 20 Flashbacks item is a 92 overall with no Power Up option as shown below.
Where to get Stafford & Nelson’s new MUT items
To get the player items, gamers can purchase the Madden 20 Flashbacks packs at Ultimate Team Store. These currently sell for 6,490 Madden Training. Each pack contains one 89 OVR or better Flashbacks player.
Both Stafford and Nelson’s new items are selling on the Madden Auction Browser as well. As of this report, Stafford listings have a range of 156,000 to 190,000 Madden Coins across 11 listings on PS4. Nelson listings are in a range of 106,000 to 150,000 Coins, so that could be an inexpensive pickup for MUT gamers with Chiefs theme teams.
