Borderlands 3 Fans Should Expect New Announcements in Early February

With the holidays over and the launch of Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot now behind us, fans of Borderlands 3 may well be wondering what’s next for Gearbox’s latest shooter. Since the studio has come back from the holidays they’ve kept players busy with mini-events, but haven’t announced anything more substantial for the future. That may soon change, however. In all likelihood, fans can expect to get at least a few new Borderlands 3 announcements on the 11th of February.

When New Borderlands 3 Announcements are Likely to Occur

Since the end of the holidays, Borderlands 3 fans have gotten three different events; two of which have ended with permanent changes to the game. The Takedown Scaling Event has now come to an end and its changes to the Takedown are now the mission’s default settings. An alternate True Takedown Mode will be coming to the game in an update in early February. This mode will allow players to revert the Takedown to its original settings. Available alongside the Scaling Event was also the Farming Frenzy mini-event, which has also now come to an end with some permanent changes to the game’s drop rates.

Borderlands 3 Announcements Coming in Early February 2

In the place of Farming Frenzy is now the Rare Chest Riches mini-event; a new event which will be live until the 13th of February. However, all of these events have been relatively small and relatively short; nothing like the Bloody Harvest Halloween event, or the launch of a new Takedown, etc. In fact, Gearbox hasn’t announced anything concrete for the rest of 2020. The studio has previously said that more Takedowns are on the way, for instance. Furthermore, three additional story DLC releases are expected as part of the game’s Season Pass. However, none of these things have been officially announced yet.

This is likely to change on the 11th of February. On that date, Gearbox will be releasing the next episode of The Borderlands Show. Thus far, each episode of The Borderlands Show has included teasers and announcements for upcoming content or events. With no Borderlands 3 announcements yet made for 2020, this episode is likely to give fans exactly that.

While it may just prove to be another mini-event, it is also looking likely that Borderlands 3 will hold some sort of Valentine’s event. The current Rare Chest Riches event will be ending the day before Valentine’s Day; conspicuous timing indeed.
