Tomorrow, Activision and Infinity Ward will officially launch Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 2, the next big content release for the 2019 title. Highlighted in an action-packed new trailer, Season 2 features new maps, new game modes, and more besides. Plus, players can look forward to new Spec Ops content along with content for Multiplayer.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 2
Starring in a prominent role throughout the new trailer is Ghost, a new Operator who will be available once Season 2 goes live. However, Ghost isn’t the only new Operator coming this Season. Two additional Operators, Mace and Talon, will be coming later in the season. When it comes to weapons, Modern Warfare Season 2 features three new additions. The Grau 5.56 assault rifle and the Striker 45 SMG will both be available through the free tiers of the Season 2 Battle Pass. (Just like the new weapons in Season 1.) However, a third new weapon, currently under wraps, will also be coming post-launch.
Like the first season, players will be able to purchase a Season 2 Battle Pass with 100 tiers. Ghost, the new Operator, is the first unlock at Tier 0. After that, the remaining tiers include blueprints, skins, XP tokens, challenges, watches, and 1,300 Call of Duty Points. Like the previous season, Some of the tiers of the Battle Pass are free for all players, and these include the tiers which grant access to the two new weapons (Tiers 15 and 31). A Battle Pass bundle which grants 20 immediate Tier Skips will be available throughout the season.
As for maps and modes, Season 2 includes plenty of both. First up is Rust, a classic map from Modern Warfare 2, which will be available at launch for both Gunfight and standard Multiplayer. Atlas Superstore will also be playable at launch, but just as a standard Multiplayer map. Similarly, the new Zhokov Boneyard Ground War map will be available at launch, along with the far smaller Bazaar Gunfight map. Another Multiplayer map, Khandor Hideout, will be coming later in the season, along with more Gunfight maps. As for modes, players will be able to play in Gunfight Tournaments at launch. Meanwhile, the Demolition, Infected Ground War, and NVG Reinforce modes will be arriving mid-season.
In addition to all of these, Season 2 will also be adding new Trial missions. These solo missions include Clear the Area 2.0, Gun Course 3.0, Pitcher, and Race. Plus, new Spec Ops missions will be available in Barracks, along with Operator missions.
