What to Expect in the New Modern Warfare Reinforce Game Mode
With the launch of Season 2, Infinity Ward has delivered Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players a bevy of new content, and in particular; several new game modes. One of these is the Modern Warfare Reinforce mode, a hybrid game mode which returns to the franchise with a few tweaks. Reinforce offers players an unpredictable struggle where the tides can turn dramatically quickly, thanks to its unique respawn mechanics.
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Reinforce Game Mode
At its heart, the Modern Warfare Reinforce mode is a flag-capture game mode. There are three flags spread around the map, and two teams must compete to capture them. However, there’s actually three different ways to win in Reinforce. Firstly, your team wins if you capture and hold all three flags at the same time. Secondly, your team wins if you are holding the most flags when the timer expires. Finally, you can win by simply eliminating all enemy players.
However, eliminating the enemy team comes with a catch. When you are eliminated in Reinforce, you don’t respawn straight away. Instead, you’ll go into a spectate mode. In theory, Reinforce could be a single-elimination mode, depending on how events play out. However, the key factor in Reinforce which lends the mode its name is that when your team secures a flag, any spectating members of your team will respawn at that flag. As a result, you can potentially see entire waves of players respawn to “reinforce” their beleaguered teammates.
For each round you win in a Reinforce match, your team gains 1 point. The first team to score 4 poins total wins the match. While rounds in Reinforce can end relatively quickly, their length can also be somewhat unpredictable. After all, a badly timed rush might see a whole team wiped out before they can capture any flags. Alternatively, a struggle back-and-forth over the third flag could see the round hitting the end timer before either team can decisively win. Reinforce is now available to play in Modern Warfare, with other new modes set to arrive during the rest of Season 2.
