In early March, EA will bring FIFA 20 CONMEBOL Libertadores content back to the game in many ways. This year, gamers will be able to experience the exciting South American football competition through various modes including Ultimate Team, Career, Kickoff, and Tournament modes. Here are more details about what’s on the way with this exciting new addition to the game.
FIFA 20 CONMEBOL Libertadores in Tournament and Kick Off modes
The FIFA 20 CONMEBOL Libertadores announcement arrived on Thursday, February 20. EA Sports FIFA posted several tweets that also included a link to their website. They also shared a 2019 YouTube video featuring Paulo Dybala and Vinicius Junior to promote the event. CONMEBOL Libertadores will be exclusive free content released in early March for FIFA 20. It integrates the South American competition into various game modes.
Based on details shared on EA’s FIFA website, “The heated competition of CONMEBOL action comes alive in Tournament and Kick Off mode with two new stadiums, authentic match presentation, branding, pitch props, and new headscans that immerse you in the sights and sounds of South American club football.”
The details mention clubs including River Plate, Boca Juniors, Flamengo, Racing Club, C.A. Independiente, Millonarios, and Universidad CatΓ³lica. Those are just some of the available clubs in the Tournament and Kick Off modes.
Ultimate Team and Career Mode included
In FIFA’s Ultimate Team mode, there will be “select special items and themed in-game content that connects you to the CONMEBOL Libertadores as you assemble your dream squad.” As far as what those items are, that has yet to be revealed.
The FIFA 20 CONMEBOL Libertadores will also be in Career Mode. The mode will also include CONMEBOL Sudamericana and CONMEBOL Recopa. The mode will feature “authentic competition structures, branding, stadium dressings, dynamic news, UI, and more.”
Founded in 1960, CONMEBOL Libertadores has been going strong for 60 years now. The annual international club football competition features a number of clubs competing for all the glory. There’s also eligibility for the FIFA World Cup up for grabs. In 2019, it was the Flamengo club defeating the defending champions River Plate 2-1 in the final.
The free FIFA 20 CONMEBOL Libertadores content update will be available for PS4, Xbox One, and PCs. The official release date is March 3, 2020.
