When MLB The Show 20 arrives to the masses, gamers will be able to enjoy their own custom leagues online with friends. In several recent videos from San Diego Studios, they teased some of the details for MLB The Show 20 Custom Leagues mode including rosters, teams, and rules.
What will MLB The Show 20 Custom Leagues mode feature?
We’ve recently seen gameplay video reveals and the big news that full minor league rosters will be in The Show 20. Now fans can get even more excited as custom online leagues are going to be a new mode in the game.
Ramone and the Coach are featured in one of the new videos from San Diego Studios with a look at MLB The Show 20 Custom Leagues mode. In the Feb. 25 video, Ramone mentions that gamers can “create and customize their own online leagues with friends.” That includes selecting the total number of teams as well as the roster types.
Those roster options include using either the 40-man MLB Live rosters or the Diamond Dynasty rosters. There’s also the option to make a league “Relaxed” or have a “Competitive” season-long format.
Here’s the video released on Tuesday with a quick look at Custom Leagues.
Custom Leagues will also allow gamers to set up “House Rules” as Ramone mentions in the video. These include things like the number of innings for games, number of games in a series, and the number of teams for the postseason bracket. There’s a rule for having designated hitters or not, among others.
In a video on Monday (Feb. 24), Coach was hanging out with cover star Javy Baez to tease the MLB The Show 20 Custom Leagues. That video is a bit shorter but it shows some of the “house rules” options for pitcher stamina and more.
Live stream to provide more details?
So far, the new MLB The Show 20 Custom Leagues seem to be a welcome option amongst the community. However, there are still unanswered questions such as will the leagues only consist of player-controlled teams or get filled in with CPU teams? It’s also unknown if there’s a fantasy draft option for custom leagues.
San Diego Studio will hopefully fill in the details with the upcoming live stream video about Custom Leagues. That video should be available for live streaming on Thursday, February 27. Typically these streams happen between 5 and 7 p.m. Eastern Time.
It will be shown on MLB The Show/San Diego Studio’s Facebook, Twitch, and YouTube channels. Visit the MLB The Show stream options here.
